Beth David has adopted a new schedule of Erev Shabbat services, to meet the diverse needs of our community.
First Friday of the Month, 6:30
At the beginning of every month, the first Friday evening will be either a family or grade level Shabbat dinner and service. We are trying to get our children to lead services and have them feel that the bima (while a little scary at times) is also a place where they belong.
Second Friday of the Month, 6:30
The second Friday nights will be a bit different. We will have babysitting. We have come to realize that younger families would like to attend services, and we are trying to make it easier for you. These 6:30 services will be about an hour long and are a chance for younger parents to find some time and space to grow spiritually.
Third Friday of the Month, 8:00
During the third Shabbat evening we will look to set a different mood at this 8:00 service. Many of us are dealing with our own ailments or those who suffer illness in our family or our circle of friends. We want to use Shabbat to help us heal and find the sacred even in pain and illness. We will read and consider special psalms that deal with the often lonely experience of illness, as we seek to find wholeness.
Fourth Friday of the Month, 8:00
The fourth Shabbat will be at 8:00 as well. This will be the traditional Shabbat service with sermon and music we all love. We understand the need to experiment, and we also need to acknowledge that some things work well.
Fifth Friday of the Month Synaplex
Synaplex will take place on those months that have five Friday evenings (11/30, 2/29, 5/30). These are based on the idea of a Cineplex with many movie choices. We will have multiple options to enchance our Shabbat experience through the paths of wine, art, food, music, dance and even yoga. Come join us for a Shabbat that dares to try different ways of connecting to Judaism and personal worship.

During July and August, all Erev Shabbat services will begin at 6:30. Please check the calendar for specific dates.
Shabbat morning services are held on Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. whenever a Bar or Bat Mitzvah service is scheduled (which is most Saturdays during the school year). Torah study sessions are held at 9:30 am before regular services.
All members and families of all ages are welcome at all services.
